Teachers' Day Gift Idea: A DIY Post-it Note Craft to Make at Home

Did you just now realize that October 15 is Teacher's Day Right? And you're looking for something to give your teacher—something pretty, not too expensive, and something you can make at home. You've come to the right place, because here I've created this Teachers' Day souvenir with a Post-it note to download and print

Teacher's Day Souvenir - Heart-Shaped Post-It Note.

It's a personalized card with a real Post-it note pad glued in just the right spot. It sits on the teacher's desk, and she uses it to jot down messages, meeting reminders, and the names of students who forgot their homework. Very useful in a teacher's day-to-day routine.

I made two models, put them together here at home, and took photos of them just as they turned out. In this post, you’ll see how each one turns out, what you need to put them together, the step-by-step instructions, and what to write on the Post-it note. At the end, the file is available for you to download.

Teacher's Day Gifts with Post-it Notes: 2 Designs That Will Delight

To give a meaningful gift on Teachers' Day, it doesn't have to be anything expensive or out of the ordinary. What matters is that it's given with love, and these two gift ideas for teachers are the kind of presents that will truly touch their hearts.

Model 1: Top-Notch Teacher, with a trophy

It's the most fun. “Top-Notch Teacher” In large letters, a golden trophy with little stars and a pencil drawn at the top. The Post-it note is on the left, held in place by a little pin shaped like a heart.

"Top-Notch Teacher" Souvenir with a trophy and a pink Post-it note, packaged in a clear bag

The pink Post-it note provides a cheerful contrast to the trophy's gold color, but yellow goes well with it, too. It works really well for elementary and high school teachers, and it's a good option for male teachers.

Template 2: Happy Teachers' Day, from the bottom of my heart

It's the most delicate one; it has the phrase “Teaching is transforming lives with the heart”, little leaves and a little flower on the sides, and a pink heart with the message “Thank you for sharing your knowledge, inspiration, and kindness every day.”. And you can even add a little bow to make the Teacher's Day gift even more elegant.

With the pink Post-it note, it all matches the color of the heart. That's what I'd choose for the little ones' Teacher Appreciation Day, for the coordinator, or for the principal.

In both models, the The party favor goes in a clear bag with an adhesive flap. It's protected, looks great, and is ready to be delivered.

materials for making Teacher's Day gifts.

How to Make a Party Favor with Post-it Notes

  1. Printer Setup: If you use an Epson or Canon inkjet printer, set the paper type to “Professional Glossy,” select portrait orientation, and click to print.
  2. Let it dry. If you're using photo paper, wait about 2 minutes before touching the print so it doesn't smudge.
  3. Cut out the three pieces. Go along the edge of each party favor and round off the corners with scissors or a corner rounder.
  4. Stick the Post-it note on there. Place a small piece of double-sided tape on the back of the notepad and stick it onto the drawing.
  5. Pack it up. Place it in the bag and seal the adhesive flap.

Once everything is set aside, each sheet with three little gifts is ready in just 10 minutes.

What to write on the Post-it note

The space is small, so the sentence needs to be short. Here are a few that fit perfectly:

  • Thanks for teaching me with such care, Prof!
  • Today is Teachers' Day, and you're a 10 out of 10!
  • Learning from you is a gift.
  • Thank you for caring for and teaching our son with such dedication.
  • Teaching by your side makes it easier. Happy Teacher's Day!

If the child can't write yet, their name, a drawing, or a colorful heart will do. The teacher will keep it just the same.

How to figure out how many party favors to make so that every teacher gets one.

Since each sheet yields three party favors, divide the number of teachers by three and round up. For 10 teachers, you'll need 4 sheets. Print one extra sheet in case of any cutting errors.

You can mix and match the models: the heart for the teachers of the younger kids and “Professor Nota 10” for the older classes.

How do you sell Teacher Appreciation Day gifts?

If you work in the personalized stationery business, this is a low-cost, quick-to-assemble item, and a photo of the finished product sells itself. Put together kits of 5 and 10 units and promote them on your Instagram and in the WhatsApp groups for moms at the school where your child goes, because orders tend to come in during the week leading up to the 15th.
